Reconnecting fashion and farming
The inaugural Fashion & Farming weekend unites two worlds and explores what we farm, wear and the earth we share. We bring together creative minds, change makers and entrepreneurs as we gather the innovators, fabricators, planners and inventors to sow the seeds for fresh ideas.
What fuels fashion
Clothing is part of the fabric of life, and fashion is one of our primary sources of self expression. It gives us warmth, safety and joy. Once inextricably linked, the farm-to-food and-fabric cycle has been broken. Our fashion and textiles industries are now causing huge environmental damage. Less than 1% of clothing is recycled into new clothing and 73% of the materials used are landfilled or burned.
It’s time to make, better
We unite the worlds of fashion & farming to explore ideas on how to farm sustainably, create new fabrics and learn new things from older ways of making. Looking at what we eat, wear and the earth we share, we invite you to join us for a weekend of conversation, provocation, good food, great ideas and intriguing fun in the West Cork coastal town of Kinsale, where fresh ideas take root.
Ideas taking root
Don't miss this opportunity to explore the connection between what we wear and where it comes from. Whether you're a fashion enthusiast, a farmer or simply curious about the relationship between these two worlds, Fashion & Farming weaves together two stories that might lead to a brighter future for our planet.
We bring some of the foremost proponents from the world of sustainability to show us how we can bring change to our surroundings and make our world a better place for us and future generations.
